Welcome to Jester's Trek.
I'm your host, Jester. I've been an EVE Online player for about six years. One of my four mains is Ripard Teg, pictured at left. Sadly, I've succumbed to "bittervet" disease, but I'm wandering the New Eden landscape (and from time to time, the MMO landscape) in search of a cure.

Make a point in 140 characters

Only giving the person who inflicts a KM on a rat all the sec status is like giving the person who mines out a rock all the ore.

  1. This sounds like a new game!

You know, CCP should make landmarks in New Eden that we can shoot at when frustrated with stupid stuff, just so they always have a good metric of just how pissed off we are.

    also, lol low-sec.

  2. Sec statues hits should work inversely also, the person getting the KM should take the hit, not everyone else who assisted.

  4. @RipardTeg No, it's like giving all the ore to the person who is mining the moment when the rock disappears. #tweetfleet #eveonline #FAIL -- Rhavas (@EVE_Rhavas)

    1. I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. I suppose he could have made that clearer if he wasn't holding himself to some stupid arbitrary character limit just because it's the cool new hip thing to do.

  5. How does fleet status affect sec status gain? As someone who still has a lily white +5.0 standing, I honestly don't know. I have heard that if you are in a fleet that goes ratting, the gain is shared.

  6. All the ore already goes to the person who scored the killshot.

Ratting for sec status and have competition? use unlinked high RoF to KM-whore.

  7. Funny to see how many people don't get how ratting worked...I don't entirely know myself.
Before, you could use your bearin' alt to grind rats or missions while your main took a nap in the corner and both would get sec status due to being fleeted. (I know you gained faction standing even if not everyone participated in a mission [i.e. your other toon could be cloaked in system or on the other side of the universe] but I dunno about the "range" of sec status.)
Now, whoever takes the last HP of structure gets the whole sec status, and nobody else. So he who wants sec status must also be the one firing the guns. Or missiles. Tengu whores.

    1. I agree with OOZ662 -the change forces the character who needs sec status to actually do the work. Griefing is already too easy in Eve -I like the fact that it exists, cause it's part of what makes the game so unique. But it shouldn't get so bad that peeps who want nothing to do with low and null sec rage quit. IMHO CCP need to go one step further: The signature radius of a low sec status Pod should be inversely proportional to the sec status of the system. As a flashy red moves into higher security space they should be easier to target -would love to see pissed off carebears camping high sec gates in sensor boosted ships waiting for a flashy red to decloak :)
