Welcome to Jester's Trek.
I'm your host, Jester. I've been an EVE Online player for about six years. One of my four mains is Ripard Teg, pictured at left. Sadly, I've succumbed to "bittervet" disease, but I'm wandering the New Eden landscape (and from time to time, the MMO landscape) in search of a cure.

Big scary pimp companion to the POTW

Brought to you from Jove space:

37.5 to 12.  GF, PERCUSSIVE PIZZA TIME DIPLOMACY.  For the record, Rote's first comp did exactly what we wanted it to do.  In any way you think it didn't.

  1. This, ladies and gentlemen is whats called damage control.
Even tho they actually won their fight, it was fairly close!

  3. Grats Jester! For a minute there I thought your punisher was going down.

  4. Seemed like rote was lacking in dps with that comp. Guessing we will see a more aggressive comp in you're next match. When you're able, could you give us a run down of what was expected with the comp ( I realize this is likely after the qualifiers or tournament).

    1. Yes, after qualifiers, I'll explain. (If needed.)

    2. Seems like they played as safe as possible to get the least amount of points necessary to advance. It's a really safe way to play and almost too safe for that first match.

    3. At first glance, it appears to be a deception composition - relying on Jester's notoriety in order to draw fire away from the Oracle, which being the bulk of the DPS and the softest target might make it an option for first target.

  5. I thought you made it clear you never flew T1 frigs ;)

    1. I don't fly T1 frigs in null-sec PvP because my clones are pretty expensive. Seems silly to fly a 20 million ISK clone in a 1 million ISK ship.

That problem doesn't apply to AT. ;-)

What about low sec? No bubbles so a much greater chance of getting out alive.

  7. It seems as though a few alliances did next to no research into their fleets and came into it without much of a semblance of strategy.

Maybe there were (armor sleipnir?), maybe there weren't (dual tanked Mach?), that's just the impression I get from some of of the fleet comps.

Glad to see Rote went in with a strategy to their fleet.

  9. Was a good fight, nice job..

As you predicted lots of the new ASB's

But, not so many fights going the full 10mins, and a lot of white washes too......

I don't think the new mod is as overpowered as you may think, just gives solo ships the chance to fight a bit more without being overwhelmed by smaller gangs.

Still, the results are going to make the next weekend interesting.

    1. The ASB is literally the best thing ever. With every AutoCane in the game rocking dual medium neuts, capless tank is essential. Moreover, you can actually tank a respectable amount with the ASB's, which allows one ship to take on many at once.

Armor tanking needs a serious buff now, though. I theory-crafted a Dual-rep Vindi running two Core X-Type LAR's today. 690 dps tank. Not only do you have higher fitting requirements than shield, you get your reps at the end of the cycle.

      SAVE ARMOR 2012!
