Welcome to Jester's Trek.
I'm your host, Jester. I've been an EVE Online player for about six years. One of my four mains is Ripard Teg, pictured at left. Sadly, I've succumbed to "bittervet" disease, but I'm wandering the New Eden landscape (and from time to time, the MMO landscape) in search of a cure.

Traffic notification: Jita

Just a quickie.

TMC has announced the dates for this year's Burn Jita: April 25 through 28. That's this weekend.

There's also every single reason in the world to assume that things will kick off at least several hours early. After all, they did both last year and the year before. And I wouldn't put it past the Goons to start things off earlier than that this time. Last year, a number of people tried to sneak a few expensive things into Jita before the "deadline." This did not go well for them.

Don't join the dozens of people who lost freighters and jump freighters last year and the year before! Good luck!

EDIT (21/Apr/2014): Talvorian Dex makes an excellent point in the comments below: a good solid third of the losses last year took place in the systems surrounding Jita. So watch yourself anywhere in the neighborhood!

  1. I love the people who think this is limited to Jita. Those guys provide a lot of losses. Pretty much, the only way to travel safely is not to.

    1. With the ever-increasing amounts of ganking that has been going on daily in high-sec, events like Hulkageddon and Burn Jita no longer rate more than a passing comment.

    2. You know, that's an excellent point.

    3. And yet, hundreds more pilots will cry out with rage during this weekend than at any other time this year. The tears will flow, and the CFC will be satisfied.

  2. 585 Billion last year...You and the other assholes on the CSM just implemented changes that will hit high sec with losses 10 times that every week.

Congrats, you are now the most effective griefers in Eve history. You proud about that...wait, I already know the answer.

    1. Loosen the chin strap, Dinsdale, the tin foil works better when it has some play in it to effectively counteract the rays.

    2. Im proud of killing several JF and Freighters last year *cackle*

and im making 90% of my isk in highsec .....

If you fly in to BurnJita after they have announced it on several sites you have your self to blame..... I wasn't in CFC when first Burnjita occured but i was still in jita salvaging like a "ravaging monkey" i made a ton of isk that day ...... Think of it as a Player driven event... and last year was immensly fun....

    3. where are you getting your number of *almost 6 trillion isk* loss a week in highsec?

    4. Clearly some of you are not that bright. Not surprising given you get your jollies killing undefended ships. The 6 trillion loss is going to be the very bare minimum loss in ISK generation when the incineration of high sec industry is complete. The children wrecking ships next weekend is a drop in the bucket compared to the lost income so many high sec industrialists are about to incur on an ongoing basis.

    5. What is really assholeish is to think that the CSM guys "implement" anything. But the pot you smoke, you know, is clearly killing your neurons, so please keep saying stupid things and entertaining us all.

  3. Dinsdale is a lesson for future game devs, never make a game that doesn't completely segregate pve from pvp. The pvpers are sociopaths and the carebears are all closet psychopaths.

  4. Well there is no more war in null, so they need to get kills some way... .

    1. The sad thing is you know that there will be loads of people out there with massive bling ships or freighters.

I got killed quite a few times last year. Kept undocking and blowing up the freighter wrecks :-)

  5. Overhyped propaganda event. Last year GSF had pitiful 62% ISK ratio. Against autopiloting freighters, that's less then awesome (for suicide gankers even 90% is pretty lame). http://greedygoblin.blogspot.hu/2014/04/goonswarm-federation-in-burn-jita-2013.html

It's only the fear that keeps Goons in business. If people realize that they are paper tigers, they are gone, just like their highsec POCO empire. PvP-ers can have a massacre on them if they dare to show up and PvE people can troll them with a freighter filled with a double-wrapped Damage Control I module. Last year I taunted them with an Orca. http://greedygoblin.blogspot.hu/2013/04/burn-morons.html That Orca is still alive!

    1. Gevlon, why did you get kicked out of Darwin's Lemmings?

    2. Gevlon, we don't do it for profit. We do it because we love reading how insanely furious it makes you.

    3. Gevlon, when are you going to understand that ISK ratio/efficiency/cost-of-opportunity have NOTHING to do with this? Can you conceive the possibility of people having fun without the need of seeing how the wallet figures grow? That some people simply sees ISK as a resouce to buy things to make explode other things?
