Welcome to Jester's Trek.
I'm your host, Jester. I've been an EVE Online player for about six years. One of my four mains is Ripard Teg, pictured at left. Sadly, I've succumbed to "bittervet" disease, but I'm wandering the New Eden landscape (and from time to time, the MMO landscape) in search of a cure.

Seen on Twitter: Wreck

It's not often that CCP shows a sense of humor about themselves, but they managed it today.  This is the new look for the Jita 4-4 Monument on the Sisi test server (top), and how it currently looks on Tranquility (bottom):

I guess I don't have to tell you how the monument got that way.  ;-)  TGL3 seems to have caught it first.  Great work, CCP!  I am amused and heartened by this show of good humor.

  1. You'd think a few hundred Capsuleers heaving at it for days could do more damage...guess that goes to show the strength of the average 4-4 tard. :P

    On the subject of Sisi, isn't it funny how all of the recently fixed-on-Tranq bugs are back on the "final build?" Corp roles broken, ship spinning frozen, pinned windows bumping the station window on docking...

  2. I like the new 'show info' text on the monument.

    This was once a memorial to the winners of a riddle contest sponsored by late entrepreneur Ruevo Aram. After standing proud for half a decade, it was destroyed in late YC113 by capsuleers who were staging a mass uprising against an intolerable status quo of intergalactic affairs. Today, the ruins of this once-great work of art stand as a testament to the fact that change is the universe’s only constant.

    So bright.

    So beautiful ;__;

    (so many prop mods)

  4. You ever get the feeling CCP managers just threw up their hands and said to the devs, "Go, do what you want, I give up." And then they did?

  5. This is the sort of thing that makes me hopeful that EVE still has soul.

  6. This is a "they really get it" moment.

  7. Not really, it's nothing more than a part of the refocusing. Tweaking, polishing, shiny. Needed, absolutely, but just "style".

    Whether CCP "really" get it, will only become visible once they take on the substance (no pun intended) part. Next summer.

    Look, as good as it is to see them take on FiS again let's not forget that it was Hilmar who coined the phrase "if it looks good it is good (enough)". Something still advocated.

    The risk in CCP focusing on tweaking & polishing without fundamentally changing their organisation to solve the mindset & procedural issues that prevented it from getting stuff right fully, remains as is.
